Teori parent-offspring conflict (POC) merupakan teori yang digagas oleh Robert Trivers pada tahun 1974. Teori ini merupakan salah satu teori yang menjelaskan bagaimana konflik hubungan orang tua dan anak (keturunannya) dalam kerangka psikologi evolusioner (evolutionary psychology) yang menekankan faktor nature dalam menjelaskan perilaku manusia. Perbedaannya dari teori lain adalah dasar teori evolusi dalam kemunculannya dalam menjelaskan konflik hubungan orang tua dan anak. Konflik yang terjadi disebabkan karena faktor genetik yang overlap dan tidak identik antara orang tua dan anak. Trivers sampai saat ini masih terus mengembangkan teorinya dan ia mencoba mempelajari dan memahami situasi di alam dimana gen-gen di dalam tubuh seseorang yang tidak sepakat (disagreement), bagaimana gen tersebut dipilih—diseleksi—dalam petunjuk yang bertentangan (conflicting directions).
